Broadband Internet Connections

Knossos Networks Ltd provides high-speed broadband Internet connections to hotels and businesses in the Wellington region. We offer a Fair Share bandwidth managed service, which allows you the advantages of flat rate services without arbitrary download caps, and committed rate plans for serious Internet business.

Connections use high-speed Citylink fibre, Araneo fixed wireless or our own high-speed network, freeing you from the slow uploads, high latencies and and high contention ratios associated with ADSL services.

Fair Share Plans

International bandwidth is expensive, but this shouldn't stop you enjoying your use of the Internet just because you downloaded a few bytes more than your arbitrary volume cap. The Fair Share system manages bandwidth so that light users get priority over the heaviest users, but both can continue to use their connections.

Furthermore, Fair Share plans don't penalise you for accessing your mail or using fast, local sites. Local, national and international traffic are prioritised separately.

A Fair Share plan is ideal for individual users and small businesses (1-10 people), who need fast access to the Internet.

Committed Rate Plans

Committed Rate is an extension to the Fair Share plan for larger businesses and organisations that rely heavily on Internet connectivity for their business.

Committed Rate allows the same "infinite burst" capability as a Fair Share plan, but allow you to specify how much bandwidth you can use before any traffic prioritisation kicks in. Committed Rate plans also operate at higher base priorities to ensure that you can get the speed that you've paid for no matter how congested the network might be.

Easy connections

All Knossos Networks connection options provide an Ethernet interface, so you don't need an ADSL modem. This can be plugged into your own computer or Ethernet router. We can supply suitable routers to provide security, access to multiple computers and/or provide wireless network connectivity.

All Knossos connections include a static IP address. Additional IP address space is available if required.
