Mail server upgrade - Thu, 31 July 2008 at 02:41 PM

We will be upgrading our main mail server on Friday 8 August 2008 from 6pm to midnight (or earlier). During this time you will not be able to send email via smtp.knossos.net.nz, or retrieve email from pop.knossos.net.nz, imap.knossos.net.nz or http://webmail.knossos.net.nz.

Any email arriving during the upgrade will be queued on another server, and delivered when the upgrade is complete.

TelstraClear have completed the repair to the CityLink link cable at the Murphy St exchange, and all services are operating correctly.

TelstraClear and CityLink have identified the problem to be a cable fault at the Murphy St exchange, and are terminating new tie cables to bypass the fault. They expect the repair to be completed in the very near future.

There is a fault on a TelstraClear core router. TCL tecnicians are working on the problem, but do not yet have an ETA for repair.

We are experiencing a lack of connectivity with our TelstraClear upstream (national and international) service. This appears unrelated to yesterday's outage. TCL and CityLink are working on the problem.

TCL have restored national and international service, although some remedial work remains to be completed. All services appear to be operating normally.

TelstraClear has experienced a major cable failure, affecting the lower North Island. The majority of Internet destinations are affected. TCL are working on moving traffic to other cables and we hope to have service available soon.

We are again experiencing a CityLink outage starting at 01:15, affecting all services. A fault call has been placed with CityLink, and we are awaiting a response.
